Walk Around The Lake 

As Bethany’s Auntie and twin sister to her mum, I wanted to do something that made Katie, Ben & Bethany know that everyone cared and also try to do something positive in the face of such horrific news.

Everybody was being so kind and asking if there was anything they could do. So my best friend Sam and I got together and she came up with the idea of doing a walk around Virginia Waters dressed as children’s characters to raise money, which we hoped would make everybody feel like they were doing something to help.

Initially it was just going to be the girls! Then others got wind of it and what started out as just a few of us, ended up with all of Katie & Bens NCT friends, Bethany’s nursery group, family friends, family & work colleagues. I think all in all there were 60 of us on the day. The weather was great and we created quite a stir at Virginia Waters, with a large cuddly cow, Superman, Batman, Captain America, Little Bo Peep, Snow White, Bob the Builder, Princess Lea, Robin Hood, Fred & Wilma Flintstone, Worzel Gummidge, Aunt Sally, Teletubbies and many fairies, to name but a few characters.

The £9,500 we raised is just staggering.
